Everything you need to know about visiting the GUYER MARCHING INVITATIONAL


The Guyer Band Boosters thanks you for attending the GUYER MARCHING INVITATIONAL.  We hope you have an excellent time at the event watching all the talented students perform their shows.  This page is meant to provide you with all the details you need to know as a spectator at the event.  

The Guyer Marching Invitational is one of our band program’s premier fundraising events.  Hundreds of Guyer Band students and parents will be working on event day to make sure you and your band have a rewarding experience.


CH Collins Athletic Complex is located at 1500 Long Road, Denton TX. Please refer to the Google Map at the bottom of the page.


The eastern parking lots (closest to Denton Natatorium) are utilized for band practice areas and parking only. Please park on the western side of the building. Parking attendants will be present to help you along the way. Please drive slowly through our lots, with the large numbers of children, students and volunteers traveling in and out of the stadium area.


During CLINICS, bands will have an opportunity for presenting their show for our adjudcators to watch their show with fine-tuning in mind. After each performance these esteemed professionals will have scheduled one on one times with the bands and their directors to discuss their performance and provide real time feedback on design and execution.

Later in the evening, there will be a caption and awards ceremony, held on the field in front of the west (spectator) stands.  Refer to the performance schedule for the timing of this event. 


Due to copyright concerns, we ask that you not video performances of the groups. Still shot photography is acceptable, provided you do not block the view of other spectators.

The press box areas are reserved for judges and the Guyer Band staff.  No spectators will be given access to the press box area for the purpose of recording video.  


A first aid station will be located just inside the stadium entrance.


Hydration is always a big concern at marching contests.  Hydration-related illnesses, are the primary reason for people seeking medical attention at our events.  Please take the necessary steps to stay hydrated.  In addition to drinks available at the concessions stands, bands have access to water stations conveniently located at various areas around the complex.


Admission for spectators is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for students with a student ID, Children under 5 are Free.  This one ticket will admit spectators all day to come and go as you please.  Performers will be provided wrist bands to gain entry into the spectator areas.


GUYER MARCHING INVITATIONAL merchandise will be available for sale at the at the event.  You can also purchase merchandise through this website in advance of the festival and pick it up when you arrive.  Quantities may be limited.   


Restrooms are located on both ends of the stadium.  Remember that you cannot exit or enter the stands during a performance.



Concession stands are located on the western side of the stadium, to the left of where you’ll enter.  Refer to the menu for a list of food that will be available for sale during  the invitational.  

Note that ice chests may NOT be brought into the stadium.  


Depending on the weather, it may be very sunny or rainy.  Spectators are allowed to have umbrellas in the stands, but umbrellas cannot be open while bands are performing - no exceptions.  Spectators who refuse to follow this rule will be asked to exit the stadium and no refund will be offered.
